Rising star Morrell talks about defending his WBA World Super Middleweight strap versus Mario Cazares in a June 27 FOX PBC Fight Night headliner while James discusses preparing Jermell Charlo and Errol Spence Jr. for the biggest fights of their respective careers.
Unbeaten WBA 168-pound champion David Morrell Jr. and renowned trainer Derrick James are this week's guests on The PBC Podcast. The 23-year-old Morrell is considered one of the most promising fighters in the sport and is already the WBA World Super Middleweight Champion with only four professional bouts. Morrell will defend that title against Mario Cazares on Sunday, June 27, in the main event of FOX PBC Fight Night (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT) from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Arguably the sport's finest trainer, James has a full plate in the coming months as he prepares two of boxing's biggest stars, Jermell Charlo and Errol Spence Jr., for the most critical fights of their respective careers. Charlo, the unified WBA, WBC, and IBF World Super Welterweight Champion, faces WBO counterpart Brian Castano Saturday, July 17, live on SHOWTIME (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) in a bout that will determine the first undisputed 154-pound world champion in the four-belt era. Spence, the undefeated unified WBC and IBF World Welterweight Champion, is slated to face sports icon Manny Pacquiao in a blockbuster FOX Sports pay-per-view in August.
Plus, hosts Kenneth Bouhairie and Michael Rosenthal recap the entire Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul, including the Jarrett Hurd-Luis Arias shocker, list their top five middleweights of the past generation and more!
