The build-up for one of 2017's most anticipated fights began in 2016. November 12, to be exact. On that night, in Philadelphia, Danny "Swift" Garcia defeated Samuel Vargas in a #PBConSpike main event. With fellow 147-pound champion Keith Thurman commentating on the fight ringside, he was brought into the ring to formally announce a unification bout after Garcia's stoppage victory.
