Marysol Castro to host PBC on ESPN broadcasts

Premier Boxing Champions is set to debut on ESPN when Keith Thurman collides with Luis Collazo on July 11 (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. And serving as host for all PBC on ESPN broadcasts will be longtime television reporter and anchor Marysol Castro.

Marysol Castro will host each PBC on ESPN broadcast, starting with the Keith Thurman vs. Luis Collazo card in Tampa, Florida, on July 11.

Castro is formerly a news anchor at WPIX in New York. Before that, she appeared on Good Morning America Weekend on ABC for more than seven years and The Early Show on CBS for more than a year.

Castro holds a master’s degree from the Columbia School of Journalism.

"I'm extremely excited to be a part of such an energetic, smart and fun team. My years at network news, my love of sports and experience as an athlete have prepared me for this next chapter in my professional life. I look forward to bringing boxing back to the forefront of sports."

She will be part of a broadcast crew that also includes blow-by-blow man Joe Tessitore, ringside analyst Teddy Atlas and reporters Todd Grisham and Bernardo Osuna, all of whom were previously part of ESPN's Friday Night Fights coverage. Nigel Collins will handle social media content and analysis.

ESPN's July 11 card will also feature a 154-pound fight between undefeated Tony Harrison and Willie Nelson.
