The grape gadfly: Andre Berto takes a break from camp with a trip to wine country

It's not all blood, sweat, toil and tears. Everyone needs a minute to refresh the mind, refresh the body and refresh the palate.

For Andre Berto, bearing down in training camp in Hayward, just outside of Oakland, California, that means a trip to nearby Napa Valley. The foodie got to sample some farm-to-table dining as he prepares to fight Josesito Lopez in Ontario, California, for Premier Boxing Champions' debut Spike TV card, but in a garden of temptation, he had to stay away from the vino. That March 13 throwdown is coming fast.

Enjoying my day off from the gym coolin in Napa Valley..

There are worse ways to spend a day off than in the sunshine of a California vineyard.

No wine for me but the views out here are amazing... #NapaValley

An empty glass has to be the saddest sight in all of Napa Valley, but then again, it still looks prettier than an angry trainer holding a heavy bag.

Berto gets in on the farm-to-table action at Farmstead, located on the Long Meadow Ranch in Saint Helena, California.

An idyllic day off comes to an end and it's time to head back to the gym, where the views are less majestic, the staff is far more demanding and the only thing that comes in full-bodied is your sparring partner.
