The Premier Boxing Champions family would like to extend our deepest condolences to Floyd Mayweather and his family on the sad news of the passing of Roger Mayweather at age 58.

Hailing from the lineage of great boxers from Michigan, Roger Mayweather, known as the “Black Mamba,” was a two-division world champion as a professional, holding the WBA and lineal world super featherweight titles from 1983 to 1984 and the WBC world light welterweight title from 1987 to 1989.

Roger would go on to become the long-time trainer of his nephew Floyd who, under Roger’s guidance, became not only the greatest fighter of his era, but one of the biggest names in sports, period.

Roger will forever be remembered for his accomplishments and colorful personality that endeared him to all.  May all of us keep the entire Mayweather family in our thoughts and prayers.
